Aragón es una de las 17 comunidades autonomas españolas, está formada por tres provincias (Huesca, Teruel y Zaragoza), que contienen 730 municipios y donde viven 1.204.000 habitantes sobre una superficie de 47.646 km2, que representa el 9,4 % del territorio español.

Se halla situado al nordeste de España, coincidiendo sus límites con las áreas más desarrollada del país: Cataluña (Barcelona), Valencia, Madrid y Pais Vasco y bien comunicada con el resto del país y con Francia por carretera, tren y avión. El Valle del río Ebro, que atraviesa la región, se ha manifestado estos últimos años como el eje de desarrollo más dinámico de España
